5.  Have a look at the institution website  Attend an Open day to have a look around the campus and view the accommodation  Talk to previous students about where they lived  Really have a think about what would suit you  Ring the accommodation office at the university to speak to someone about it

6.  What’s my budget?  How much is the deposit?  Are bills included?  Do I need contents insurance?  Is there any security on site?  Do I need a TV Licence?  How far is the accommodation from the campus?  What happens during the holidays?  What happens if I leave the university?

7.  As your offers start to come through you will have a better idea of where you might end up studying  You can usually apply for accommodation at institutions where you hold an unconditional or conditional offer  If you hold a conditional offer you can usually still apply for accommodation even though you will not know your results until August  Most institutions guarantee first year undergraduate accommodation  Most applications now made online
