 At a minimum, teachers will complete a learner profile for all Grade 1 to 9 students who are: working below grade level in need of additional support, and/or are identified with special education needs.

 The learning profile should be completed by the classroom teacher who is most responsible for that student’s instruction.

What about IPPs?

 Schools participating in the pilot will not create IPPs for students in this school year.  Kindergarten children identified as having special education needs will require IPPs

 The Standards for Special Education remain in effect – all schools not participating in this pilot will complete IPPs for 2011 – 2012.

Will this change how parents participate in their child’s learning?

 The Inclusive Education Planning Tool is a teacher resource, so only teachers will have access.  Teachers can generate reports of learner profiles to share with parents
