Factoring a Monomial From a Trinomial

Re-writing as the product of 2 or more factors. For example: 6 = 2 · 38 = 4 · 2 But… we’ll use POLYNOMIALS.

1. Find the GCF of the coefficients. 2. Find the largest power of each common variable. 3. The GCF is the product of steps 1 and 2 4. DIVIDE each term by the GCF. Final answer is a multiplication problem: GCF ( Quotient after you divide )
