2. St. Athanasius the Apostolic Because, by the sacrifice of His body, He put an end to the verdict against us, as it has been through a man that death came upon all humans, so also by the Word of God, who became Man, death was abolished and the resurrection of life was initiated.

3. 1. Doubting the power of Jesus 14Then Jesus said to them plainly, Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, in order that you may believe. But let us go to him. Then Thomas (he being called Twin) said to his fellow disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with Him. Jn 11: 14-16

4. Doubting the way Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You go, and how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also. And from now on you know Him and have seen Him. Jn 14: 5- 7

5. Doubting the Resurrection 24But Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I shall see the print of the nails in His hands, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe. Jn 20: 24,25

6. Jesus changed his pattern Then He said to Thomas, Reach your finger here and behold My hands; and reach your hand here and thrust it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing. And Thomas answered and said to Him, My Lord and my God! Jn 20: 27,28

If then you were raised with Christ Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness which is idolatry, on account of which things' sake the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience, among whom you also once walked, when you lived in these. Col 3:5-7

8. If then you were raised with Christ But now also put off all these things: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, shameful speech out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his deeds and having put on the new, having been renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, col 3: 8-10

St. Ambrose If you wish to find Hi, the sun is now rising: Come like those women, that is, with hearts devoid of the darkness of evil, as the lusts of the body and the evil deeds are all darkness..... If you wish to behold the Lord, and to come to your heavenly home, you will have to forsake the evil, abiding in the goodness that you started to adopt.
