1. Our School REQUIRES INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS to maintain the working condition of the building. The total cost of the needed work is $2,255,000. We’ve been AWARDED $902,000 in state grant money If voters elect to not cover the remaining project costs, the GRANT MONEY WILL BE FORFEITED to another school district. Our needs will not go away if we don’t address them. THE FACTS…

4. $ AND… A conversion of our existing boiler to natural gas, that will save the District and its taxpayers an estimated $17,000 a year in utility costs!

5. THE FINANCING… Project Total $2,255,000 - State Grant $902,000 = Local Share $1,353,000 15-year school bonds are proposed to fund the local share. These bonds will combine briefly with the prior 2001 bond debt (which will be paid off in 2016), with the net result to the taxpayer of a $21 dollar reduction by 2017! Property Tax Impacts are per $100,000 of assessed property value, and are calculated off 2014 Frenchtown aggregate assessed property values of $148,669,750.
