3 1,003 Jewish household respondents completed the survey. Jewish Persons = Respondents (age 18+) who view Judaism as their religion or who say that “aside from religion” they consider themselves to be Jewish or partly Jewish Jewish Households = Households that include at least one Jewish adult ABOUT THE STUDY

4 WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE ST. LOUIS JEWISH COMMUNITY?

5 APPROXIMATELY 20,000 YOUNG ADULTS IN JEWISH HOUSEHOLDS; 12,000 JEWS 42% of young adults in Jewish households are not Jewish.

6 YOUNG ADULT (23-34) JEWISH HOUSEHOLDS 48% are in core Jewish areas (U City/Clayton, Creve Coeur, Chesterfield and Olivette/Ladue); 52% are not.

7 MOST YOUNG ADULTS ARE PLANNING TO STAY IN ST. LOUIS

8 YOUNG ADULTS ARE WELL EDUCATED

9 YOUNG ADULT HOUSEHOLDS ARE MORE DIVERSE THAN OVERALL JEWISH POPULATION 6% of households with 23-35 year old respondent have a family member who identifies as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender (4% overall) 29% of these households have a family member who is not white (14% overall).

11 INTERMARRIAGE HIGHEST AMONG THE YOUNGEST RESPONDENTS PERCENT OF COUPLES CURRENTLY INTERMARRIED BY AGE OF THE RESPONDENT
