2 Test Questions What are the properties of the actinide series?
Which four elements from the Actinide Series are found on Earth naturally?

3 Answers! The most distinctive properties of the Actinide series are being radioactive, high velocity, the heavier members being unstable , and not of natural occurrence. Thorium, Protactinium, Uranium, and Neptunium are the only elements found on earth naturally.

4 Test Questions In What group of the periodic table are the Alkali metals? Answer: The first 2. Which of the following is an alkali metal? a. Lithium b. Sodium C. both

5 Questions How many elements were known at the time that Mendeleev created the first periodic table? Which three elements had been predicted by Mendeleev and were found during his lifetime? a) Barium, Calcium, and Strontium b) Gallium, Scandium, and Francium c) Germanium, Scandium, and Gallium d) Germanium, Strontium, and Gallium

10 ???Questions??? What are the atomic numbers of the elements that are lanthanides? What is another possible name for lanthanides?

11 Answers 58-71 F-Block Elements

12 Can Noble Gases be used as a guide to write electron configurations
Can Noble Gases be used as a guide to write electron configurations? If so, how and why would you use them. What are most (if all) Noble Gases used for? Nuclear Fission Nuclear Fusion Lighting and particle emissions

13 Questions What are 3 similar properties that all actinides share?
-All are metals. -They tarnish easily when exposed to air. -Actinides are dense. -In water, they may turn a different color due to an Actinide’s ions experiencing hydrolysis. -Are all radioactive. Where are actinides located and what elements are they? - Actinides are the “F-Block” Elements of the Periodic Table The y are the 14 elements with atomic numbers ranging from 90 (thorium, Th)to 103(lawrencium, Lr).

14 Questions for Test 1. What group are the Alkali Metals in?
Answer: Group of 1 of the Periodic Table 2. Which elements are called the Alkali Metals? Answer: Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, Rubidium, Cesium, and Francium

15 Test Questions 1. What are the Lanthanide elements also known as?
2.The Lanthanide series comprises the 14 elements with which atomic numbers?

16 Questions T/F Multiple Choice
Calcium, strontium and barium can reduce hydrogen gas when Cooled, forming the hydride. False Multiple Choice Magnesium is the only Group 2 element used on a ____________ scale. Large Medium Small No

17 Questions Which of the following is NOT a property of noble gases?
The majority of them has 8 electrons in their outer most layer. They are unreactive. They are located in the 18th group of the periodic table. They are solids at room temperature. 2. Why are noble gases called “inert”?
