2. REGIONAL REPORT FOR NEXIA ASIA PACIFIC– MAY 2010 ASIA PACIFIC ECONOMY Asia Pacific is recovering rapidly but faces challenges; IMF forecast 5 ¾ % growth in 2010 far higher than G7 economies. Given the export focus of Asia economy, weak global demand would significantly affect its economies. However, for the next decade Asia could well be a bright star in Asia. China remains a star in Asia with 8.7% growth in 2009 with 2010 forecast at 9.6%. The prospect of India is a 7.5% growth to FY March 2010. Japan will continue to show moderate growth but it is not totally out of the woods. Deflation continues to be a critical concern. Korean 4th quarter 2009 numbers was strong. Bank of Korea forecast 4.6% growth in 2010. Singapore is forecasted to grow 7 – 9% in 2010.

REGIONAL REPORT FOR NEXIA ASIA PACIFIC– MAY 2010 MAURITIUS Young Leaders Program (Michael Bannon): The Inaugural Asia Pacific Young Leaders Conference went well as reported above. 14 young partners/managers expected for Mauritius APYLC in 2010. Joint Tender Asia Pacific member together with Middle East & Africa make a joint tender to Standard Chartered Bank for special hotel service audit. Client agreed to work on Middle East & Africa first. This is a credit to our network.
