5 Educational Methodology No organization can afford to continue to cling to a traditional learning mindset. The risk will be too high. 6 Defining Risk Ministry of Health had set a target: –<10 cases (adverse event) per 1000 discharges (data is pulled from the Discharge Abstract Database) Risk Stratification At PHC: –>7 UTIs: 1000 patient discharge HIGH RISK –4-6 UTIs: 1000 patient discharge MEDIUM RISK –<3 UTIs: 1000 patient discharge LOW RISK

7 Educational Interventions Based on Risk Low risk interventions include: monitoring data or quick steps to serve as a reminder. Medium risk interventions include: simulation, e-learning or tutorials to provide more detail. High risk interventions include: job aides, sneaker support to educate and coach staff in the moment.
