10 DISCUSSION GUIDE 2.How can you have confidence that you can find grace in a time of need? (v. 4:16) a. Holding fast through prayer. b. Holding fast to the promise of forgiveness.

11 DISCUSSION GUIDE 3.Do you pray with confidence or doubt? If doubt, how can this change? a. Claim the promises of Scripture. b. Record requests and answers. c. Pray often not just when you have great needs.

12 DISCUSSION GUIDE 4.What is the significance of the writer of Hebrews quoting (Psalm 2:7) in (v. 5)? Paul explained the meaning of this quote in (Acts 13:33-34). This does not refer to Jesus being born but to Jesus being resurrected. He is the only High Priest that died and was resurrected

14 DISCUSSION GUIDE 6. What is the significance of Jesus being from the order of Melchizedek? (vs. 6,10) a. Melchizedek is the only priest who was also a king.

15 DISCUSSION GUIDE 6. What is the significance of Jesus being from the order of Melchizedek? (vs. 6,10) b. As far as the Old Testament record Melchizedek did not die. (see Heb. 7:1-5) Of course he died at some point but we have no record of it. c. Jesus is seen as a heavenly High Priest because He did not belong to the tribe of Levi which is the earthly priest line.

16 F L E S H I NG O U T Y O U R FAITH 7.What does the phrase “being made perfect” in (v. 9) imply? The word perfect means “complete.” Jesus is our complete, perfect sacrifice and gives eternal life

17 F L E S H I NG O U T Y O U R FAITH 8. Does the phrase in (v. 9) “them that obey Him” suggest that one can lose his salvation through disobedience? Absolutely not! It means “to trust God” to put your faith in Christ
