15. “Motivating young people to be better citizens” CG’s Guidance The timeline is aligned with the transition of the SROTC Bde transformation timeline. The JROTC Bde Staff and programs will remain under the C2 of Bde Commanders until all newly aligned Bde/Geo Boundaries are completed on or about Oct 2009; at which time the new JROTC Bde will stand up. Once formed the staff at each location will be titled Area Coordinators (AC's. Example: AC Dix, AC Bragg, AC Monterey etc.) There will initially be four forward deployed Assistant ACs with staffs located at Redstone Arsenal, Ft. Leonard Wood, Ft. Carson and Monterey. These forward deployed Assistant ACs and their staff will be phased out in the out years (three or more years) to facilitate co-location with owning AC headquarters. Example: Ft. Leonard Wood staff will move to Great Lakes, Ft Carson to Ft. Sam Houston etc.

Bde Commanders will be required to support/sign risk assessment and inspect all JCLCs assigned to them once the JROTC Bde is stood up. A JROTC BDE DCO will be located at Ft. Lewis. The command will provide the JROTC Bde a YC03 civilian authorization concurrent with the standing up of the BDE.
