Go to the Lycos Tripod website located at address: http://www.tripod.lycos.com/ http://www.tripod.lycos.com/ Membership is free and includes tools for building a website and for file management. Free membership also include: 20Mb of disk space Blog Builder Photo Album Builder.

To register, click the Sign Up button.

Enter the required membership information.

Once all the required Membership information has been entered, a Confirmation Code must be entered. The largest size six digit number on the left must be entered in the box on the right.

Click the I Agree button for acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.

An offer may appear. If so, click the No or No Thanks button to continue.

If other offer pages appear, simply, click the Skip/No/No Thanks button to proceed.

The Tripod Welcome page will open. Click the third selection, Build a web site with Tripod SiteBuilder (learn more).

Select the Start with a multi-page template choice on the Web site templates page. Note: Function icons located at the bottom of the page. Note: Information displays at the bottom of the page.

The Personal folder will open. Select the Most Popular Sites choice.

The Most Popular Sites templates will display. Select the Membership Organization template.

Enter a web site name, footer; and select the pages that you want to appear on your site. Then, click Continue.

A suggested web site design will display, based on the template selected. In this case, Blocks is the suggested template. Click the Choose from all designs button the see all available design.

The available Designs will display. Select a design to preview. In this example, the Family design was chosen.

The design name will be displayed on the left and an example of the design on the right. Click Continue in the lower right-hand corner to proceed.

A page will launch that shows your web site page with the selected design. Clicking a particular edit button will allow you to make changes.

At this point, you can either publish the site and then go back and make changes; or make changes first and then publish the site.

When the site has been published, the message, “Congratulations! Your web site has been published.” displays. Once the site is published, click Edit your site to return to the web site edit page to make changes.

Select the site name to edit.

The web site edit page will display. Click the desired edit button. In this example, the Edit picture button is selected to add the club’s logo.

The Edit the picture settings page will display. Click Choose a different picture.

The Picture Gallery page will display so that you can upload your own picture. Click the Upload Pictures button to locate the picture file.

Click the Browse button to locate the picture file. The Choose File box will open.

Once the file is found and selected, the file location/name will be populated in the Select a file: box and the picture displayed on the right. Note: Up to ten (10) files can be uploaded.

Once the picture file is uploaded, the Picture Gallery page will display and list the picture file. Picture files can be listed in either Thumbnail View or Test View.

The following functions can be performed on the Picture Gallery page: click Choose to add the picture to the page click the Clipart & Photos tab to add a clipart picture click Upload pictures to upload one of your own pictures Click delete to remove a picture file Click Preview to display the picture

Selecting Choose displays the picture and allows you to change picture settings: Size, Alignment, Title and caption, Frame and Link.

Click Done and the web site page will display and show the picture that was uploaded. Click the Publish Site icon at the bottom of the page to update the web site.

The web site page will be updated/published with the picture. Clicking Edit Site will return you the web site edit page.

Click the Edit navigation button to make page tile changes.

The Navigation bar properties page will display. Here you can change navigation bar properties, and rename the navigation bar page titles.

In this example, Navigation Bar page titles were changed to be more appropriate for a club.

The changes were made to the page titles.

The Becoming a Member page title link was selected and the page displayed for editing. Then the Edit page title button was clicked.

The text style was changed to Bold and Underline. The size was changed to 6 and color changed to red.

The changes are made to the page.

Some of the Function icons located at the bottom are useful.

The Add functions allow you to quickly add Text, Pictures, Links and Tables.

For instance, clicking the Add Text button allows you to quickly add text to the web site. When the page displays, click the desire button and add the text.

The Publish to Web and Promote Site function icons also let you quickly perform those function.

Clicking the Publish to web icon displays the page that confirms that your site was published.

The Logout and Help function icons are readily available when you need them. Clicking Logout signs you out of Tripod.

When re-entering the site, go to the home page and click the LOG IN button.

The log in page displays to enter Membership Name and Password.

Click Site Builder.

Click on the web site name.

The web site displays and editing can be performed.
