11 Mississippi Cogongrass Taskforce Continue to inform Mississippi residents of the potential threats from cogongrass. Organize a coordinated state-wide effort to control and or eradicate cogongrass in Mississippi. Secure funding for private landowners and public agencies to combat cogongrass. Support on-going research via MSU and USDA in the appropriate fashion and promote additional research.

16 Mississippi Invasive Species Alliance Formed partnership with USGS to organize early detection and rapid response system and conduct research, outreach and education on invasive species in mid-South states (Mid- South Invasive Species Alliance). Focus on invasive species in natural areas (initial priorities aquatic and terrestrial plants and cactus moth).
