3  This picture shows the environment of the Great Plains and their shelters.  Their homes were called Tepees. They always make their tepee doors face the east so that they could see the sun to wake up in the morning.  They make the covers of their tepees mostly from animal hides such as buffalo hides.  They also lived in Hogan's which are six sided houses. 4  Usually the women farmed, and the men hunted. They hunted buffalo.  And they didn’t just use it for food, but for other things too; such as houses and clothing.  Many of the Great Plain region had a hard time finding the natural resources they needed.  They also lived near the Missouri River, so they had many fish to hunt.  Also used stomachs of buffalo for pots.

5  Culture means the way of life of a group or clan.  They made prayers after ever hunt they made that was successful.  They were also very religious.  They used pipes for smoking, using tobacco.  They also roamed people and the Great Plains.

6  Clothing is usually made out of animal hides such as buffalo and they are also usually made out of animal skins.  But the most animal skins used come from antelope, and from deer.  They always made their own clothing, that the woman applied for them.  Men wore clothes such as skin leggings.  They very rarely wore shirts. Instead they wore buffalo furs around their shoulders.  Woman wore dresses made of deer skin.  They also often wore jewelry such as earrings and bracelets made out of metal, sea shells, and metal.

7  The great plains are made up of six tribes and more.  They are the Sioux, Cheyenne, Crow, Blackfeet, Comanche, and Pawnee.  These are not the only tribes there are still many more.  One of their famous people were sitting bull.  The great plains had many chieves.  But sitting bull was the most successful.

8  The great Plains have a lot of landforms.  The great plains land forms are grasslands, valleys, streams, and hills.  Streams have a lot of plantation and a variety of fish.  These are the landforms that the great plains.

9  Summers in the great plains were hot and winters were long and cold.  In the summers the temperature is 70-90 degrees.  In the winter the temperature is below 32 degrees.  In the spring andin the fall there is a lot of perciptation.

10  They traded with the French.  The great plains traded guns.  They traded food for other items.  This is what they traded.

11  The Great plains hunted buffalos and elks even many other animals.  When they hunted birds the shot bullets from guns at the birds.  The main hunt was buffalo.  They hunted buffalo’s because the believed in the white buffalo.

12  The great plains had many quotes.  Especially they had quotes from chiefs.  One of their famous quotes were “women shall not talk before men”.  That is there most successful quote that the Great plains had.
