Click on “Business Law” on left menu Requires signature from student and parent Due Friday – Assignment Grade Friday – 100% Monday – 90% Tuesday – 80% Wednesday – 70% Thursday – 60% Friday – 50% Not accepted after September 3rd.

5 Grading System GRADING SYSTEM
Board of Education policy sets the grading system for grades 4 – 12 as follows:                                                                     A (Superior) 93 – 100                                   B (Above Average) 85 – 92                                   C (Average) 77 – 84                                   D (Below Average) 70 – 76                                   F (Unsatisfactory) 69 – and below All grades will be reported to parents and students on a nine – week basis and shall be made using the alpha grading system. ASSIGNMENT WEIGHTS Professional Work Habits 10% Being On Time to Class & Prepared, Etc.                                  Assessments (Quizzes & Tests) 50% Daily Class Assignments/Portfolio 40%

No. 2 Pencils/Pens Three Ring Binder with 10 Top Load Sheet Protectors An account to be used for this course This may be a personal account – but must be checked daily for assignment information A positive attitude Strongly Recommended Home computer with Internet access and printer

7 CLASS RULES Be Prompt Begin opening task prior to bell ringing
No use of the computer or Internet connection for any task that is not directly related to the task at hand. This includes games, social networks, and instant messengers. No use of cell phones during school hours. Due to the equipment located in this classroom – ABSOLUTELY NO GUM, FOOD or DRINK will be allowed. No hats or sunglasses in the classroom Keep your hands to yourself Complete and turn in all assignments Respect the rights of others Ask permission before using others’ things Stay in assigned seat unless permission is granted to get up No putting heads on desks or sleeping in class Only one person should talk at a time/raise hand to be recognized Bring all materials to class No IPODs, MP3s, or cell phones

8 Interactive Notes PowerPoints will be utilized to present new information. You will receive a copy of the notes with missing information. You will be responsible for completing the notes. Important to complete the notes and vocabulary terms for each unit. Independent Practice Activities will be assigned for each objective/unit.

9 Assignments Calculates as 40% of your final grade.
Loss of ten points per day late; not to exceed five days Assignments beyond five days late will not be accepted Consists of essays, portfolio assignments, etc. Assignments can most often be located on: Quia.com Class Website

10 Homework Reinforces concepts introduced in class
Assigned as deemed necessary NOT just busy work Will be graded Typically due at the end of the week Loss of ten points per day late; not to exceed five days Assignments beyond five days late will not be accepted

11 Current Events/Prompts
Every Monday you will receive a Current Event Assignment. You will be instructed to locate an article relating to law in the newspaper or online. You will be asked to write a paragraph summarizing the article. Must be at least five sentences Spelling, grammar and punctuation will count. Alternate Assignment: You may choose from a list of other business related prompts. Same expectations as above.

12 Tests Tests will be given at the end of each unit.
Will consist of multiple choice questions, matching, and short essay responses. May also include production tasks. Calculates 50% of your grade VoCATs test at end of course Calculates as 25% of your final course grade No exemptions are allowed
