Cell Differentiation  The process by which unspecialized cells develop into their mature forms and functions  Embryonic Stem Cells  Undifferentiated (unspecialized)  Totipotent – can develop into ANY type tissue  Adult Stem Cells  Pluripotent or multipotent – can develop into certain types of tissues.

4. Cell Differentiation  As division proceeds, cells increase in number, more specialized in structure and function  Nearly all cells have the same DNA, only specific parts are activated  All cells initially have the potential to become any cell

5. Cell Differentiation- Activity  When you are given a card, hold it in the air  Your colored card will be swapped for a different color card.  Put down your original card and hold up your new card.
