Speaker: Chancellor Carlos Santiago Topic: How public and private sector collaboration is key to strengthening the future economic development of Southeastern Wisconsin. Carlos E. Santiago is the seventh Chancellor of UWM. In this position he is the chief administrative officer of the university. Chancellor Santiago also holds the academic rank of Professor of Economics. As a labor economist, he has regional expertise in the Caribbean and Central America. His research interests include labor market issues and problems of structural adjustment and debt. He has received fellowships and grants from a variety of organizations including the Rockefeller Foundation, Fulbright Association, and Ford Foundation. He formerly held the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University at Albany, State University of New York and functioned as the Chief Operating Officer of the campus. Chancellor Santiago has a Ph.D. and M.A in economics from Cornell University and an M.A. degree in economics from the University of Puerto Rico. He is the author and co-author of five books, including Labor in the Puerto Rican Economy: Postwar Development and Stagnation. Jim Monnat, Chairperson Nominating Committee The Chapter will hold a professional development seminar on March 8, 2005 in the MacArthur Room located on the 3 rd floor of the Wisconsin Club from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Dimitri Drone of PWC will present a program on Valuation Concepts for Business Combinations. Cost of the program is $25 for employed members and guests and no charge for retired members. Registration materials are included with this notice.
