S.MonteilPS/SPD COMMISSIONING1 PS/SPD COSMICS STATUS COMMISSIONING MEETING – JUNE 2008 - W2 Large cosmics runs have been taken last week : THE POSITIVE STATEMENTS. Full detector read-out for PRS and SPD. All crocs are now OK. Still 3 FE Boards to be finely tuned for synchronization. Still 2 VFE half-boards flat. See Edu’s report for SPD VFE. Noise performance very satisfactory for most of the electronics (both systems) PRS and SPD are now time-aligned with XCAL. Superb event displays. Remapping in the DAQ works. Exercising the fine time-alignment can already start with the current data. Tell1 performed WELL. Underfull problem is behind us. NO problem spotted last week, apart the network weakness to follow when increasing frequency. This happens first to PRS because of event size but it’s a general observation. Yet we do know that some thing bad is happening at higher frequency …

S.MonteilPS/SPD COMMISSIONING2 PS/SPD COSMICS STATUS COMMISSIONING MEETING – JUNE 2008 - W2 Somehow large (> 10k useful ) cosmics runs have been taken last week : THE PROBLEM. From Ricci

S.MonteilPS/SPD COMMISSIONING3 PS/SPD COSMICS STATUS COMMISSIONING MEETING – JUNE 2008 - W2 Somehow large (> 10k useful ) cosmics runs have been taken last week : THE PROBLEM. 24 C-side 64-detectors (both sytems) are missing cosmics, while A-side answers are homogeneous. Provided that:  We are reading pedestals (in both systems) through the DAQ.  We are correcting PRS with the adequate alternance. One-to-one correspondence detector vs electronics channels.  No time-diplaced signal in +/- 2 BX.  We checked the settings of the latencies we put in the configuration to be the same for missing and working boards.  A-side seems fine.  LEDs were time-aligned in the same BX at the period we took their measurements.  We are recording time-aligned noisy events. Everything looks like there were no HV on the correponding tubes. We are hunting. Our bSomehowest candidate so far : HV configuration problem.

S.MonteilPS/SPD COMMISSIONING4 PS/SPD FE STATUS COMMISSIONING MEETING – JUNE 2008 - W3 Actions : Run LEDs in both systems. Check what happened in the very first cosmics run. Measure HV on the platform. Measure HV on the detector. Last minute: We saw cosmics the 7th of March in one now guilty 64-detectors

S.MonteilPS/SPD COMMISSIONING5 PS/SPD FE STATUS COMMISSIONING MEETING – JUNE 2008 - W3 Program for this week : Solve the missing board issue. Robustify the PVSS configuration. Clean the platform. Start the work on the trigger path.
