2 History of England The first ancestors of British people came from the continent of Europe. About 400 BC a group of people called Celts came to Britain. Then in 43 AD the Romans came. They built straight roads and many towns. Then the Anglo- Saxons invaded Britain. The Vikings conquered North-east England and Scotland. The last invasion of Britain was in 1066. In that year the Normans attacked England.

4 Coat of arms Richard the Lionheart of England created the current coat of arms at the end of X century - on a red background adorn there are three golden lions. The Hundred Years War and the coronation of Edward III to the French throne added French lilies to the lions.

5 Famous people of England. Queen Elizabeth II Queen of England from 1952 to the present. Queen Elizabeth II is from the Windsor dynasty. Is the head of the British Commonwealth of Nations. She is the queen of 15 independent countries: Australia, Bahamas Ostrova.Ona is the oldest British monarch in history.

6 Tony Blayer Tony Blayer is a former leader of the British Labour Party. He is the 73rd Prime Minister of Great Britain.

7 William Shakespeare William Shakespeare was born in 1564 and died in 1616. He was an English playwright, poet and actor, one of the most famous playwrights in the world. Author of 17 comedies, ten historical plays, 11 tragedies, five poems and a cycle of sonnets

8 Charles Dickens Charles Dickens was born in 1812 and died in 1870. He was an English writer and one of the greatest English- language writers of the XIX century. His works are an enthusiastic hymn to freedom.

9 Michael Faraday Michael Faraday was born in 1791 and died in 1867. He was an English physicist, chemist, founder of the theory of the electromagnetic field, a member of the Royal Society

10 Isaac Newton Isaac Newton was born in 1643 and died in 1727. He was an English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, theologian and alchemist, author of "Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy"

11 Rivers of England. The Thames TheThames has a length of the channel in 346 kilometers. It is the longest river in England and the second longest in the United Kingdom. It originates in the Thames Head and flows into the North Sea. The river flows through London.

12 The greatest mountains of England. Lake District In the Northern England in the Lake District there are the highest mountains in the country. Lake District is one of the first national parks. It was established in the territory of the United Kingdom in 1951. The highest mountain is Skofel Pike, height is 978 m. Ska Fell Skofel Pike in the Lake District
