3 Process Working Group was convened comprising a selection of administrative and academic staff. Remit of the Group: To identify the specifications for the new spreadsheet reports which are required to accommodate the Universitys revised Grading Scheme

4 Points considered by the Group Information to be included in the Spreadsheets, such as: Basic Information: Student Name Enrolment Number Course Stage of Course Course Code Module Number Module Title

5 Points considered contd. Enhancements Module Credit Value Inclusion of all reassessment data, i.e. first, second, third, fourth attempt results Semester information, i.e. define which semester each module was delivered in. Flagged optional modules

6 Points considered contd. Selection Criteria, such as: Academic Session Course Stage (block) Cohorts (occurrence) Enrolment Number

7 Points considered contd. Sort Capabilities Academic Year Alphabetical by Student Name Honours Classification Number of Credits

8 Points considered contd. Appearance: Legible font size Column format or other. All students modules for any one stage to appear on a single page rather than spanning pages.

9 Consultation Process Draft spreadsheets and results letters emailed to Heads of School for comment. Student Representatives and Student Association were consulted on the results letters.

10 Issues Arising from Consultation Increased volume of paperwork to be presented at Boards due to fewer students appearing on a single page. Why use C1, C2, C3 instead of Ex and CW? Can the results letters more closely resemble SQA? Can the progression data, i.e. pass, refer etc, appear on the right hand side of the page?

11 Operation of Spreadsheets Component and Module Spreadsheet to be presented at Assessment Committees/Pre- Assessment Boards. Module Spreadsheet to be presented at Assessment Board. NB: Advise having a set of the Component and Module Spreadsheets available at Board in case of drilling down. Result Letters to be issued in accordance with previous practice for transcripts.
