2 Today’s learning Standard: CCSS.ELA- Literacy.RI.9-10.1 Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. Objective: Students will evaluate evidence for how well it supports a main idea by selecting relevant supporting evidence and orally justifying their responses. What am I expected to learn today? 12 Quiz: “The Amazing Earthworm”  Draw 2 boxes each for 183, 184, and 185.  Silently and independently complete this passage using the 4 steps.  When you are done, turn in your quiz and begin your Extra Practice Packet. Test-taking Protocol Step 1: While covering the answers, write on the top left what each question is testing me on. What do I need to be able to know or do to get this right? Step 2: Read the passage and summarize chunks of it in the margins. Step 3: Covering the answers, write predictions at the right OR go back and underline evidence from the passage. Step 4: Look at the answers. Use process of elimination. Think about WHY the wrong answers are wrong.
