3 A new concept of observatories for long term seabed monitoring lfremer Paris, 23- 24 mars 2004Atelier Expérimentation Instrumentation 20043 Deploy a selection of sensors on a seabed area (some km 2 ) connected to standard nodes. Nodes are communicating between them by acoustic links or cable links. Sensors can be deployed by ROV or submersible. Nodes can be linked to a permanent data server on shore to achieve real-time connexion and data archiving. The sensors locations are determined from a detailed pre site survey The ASSEM solution
