PLO (Pre-writing): Student will identify a topic and brainstorm a list of words or phrases that explain the topic.
PLO (Drafting): Student will use their prewriting list to create a draft of an acrostic poem.

3. Form of Writing: Acrostic Poetry: One topic word, broken down by letters, each letter has a describing adjective or phrase.
Stage of Writing: Prewriting: Organize list of ideas on a graphic organizer.

6. Practice Activity 4th grade level:
Pull up graphic organizer on SMARTBoard
Class brainstorm ideas about a topic
Pick topic
Make a list of words or phrases on topic
Complete graphic organizer on SMARTBoard.

7. Assessment 4th grade level:
Complete a graphic organizer with a topic with 8 adjectives or short phrases.
Remember to include all parts of the graphic organizer because you will be graded on it.
