1 INF570 dario.rossi Lab02: Peer Instruction P2PTV (+ YouTube) INF570 v 08/2013 Dario Rossi http://www.enst.fr/~drossi

2 Peer Instruction Interactive teaching method – Developed at Harvard, by Eric Mazur in the 1990s – Originally used in undergrad physics classes – Student-centric, flips the traditional classroom roles Today recipe – In-class reading on P2PTV (see list, optional + mandatory) – Reader presents (each individual/group his turn) – Interactive Q&A session (I may pose questions, not give answers) – Loop over all presentations, wrap up at the end Logistic – 2 hrs today, we need time for presentation discussion (at least 1hr) – Some papers are long (in-depth reading requires well above 2hrs) – Reading (~1hr), presentation + Q&A (Nx~20 min), wrapup (5 min) – We have time for ~5-6 papers
