What is Module Enrolment? Module Enrolment is the process by which core modules are automatically attached to a student, students choose their optional modules, and those choices are recorded. The data is held on Saturn, and is also shown on the students My Modules channel on the Portal.

Why do we need Module Enrolment? Module enrolment data is used in several areas: Students – need to have the correct number of credits to complete their course Students - view module information via Portal and WebCT Schools – print class lists based on Saturn information Timetabling – schedule classes based on pre-enrolment information and module sizes Examinations – schedule exam timetables based on student enrolments PMID – allocate budgets based on student numbers

Module Enrolment: The Future? Online Module Enrolment Much still to be decided, but online module enrolment should: Be user friendly for students (and staff!) Be more efficient for staff time Ensure better data quality Enable the UoN to keep up with our competitors Enhance the student experience Current April 2010 status: SMS team and Timetabling Office have been working on product specification, work currently on hold due to other demands on SMS team.
