2 China 1.Shopkeepers may not to read a book at work because book ( shū) sounds like lose ( shū). Shopkeepers who read may be afraid their businesses will suffer losses. 2. Young children should not eat chicken feet as it is believed they might not be able to write well when they start school.

3 China 3. Fifth Lunar Month: The fifth lunar month is considered an unlucky month. It is a Chinese taboo to dry blankets in the sun and build houses during the fifth lunar month. 4. Hungry Ghost Festival: The Hungry Ghost Festival is held during the seventh lunar month. In order to avoid seeing ghosts, people should not go outside at night. Celebrations liked weddings are not held.

4 Thailand 1. Do not give handkerchiefs as gifts to your friends or loved ones, because the relationship between you and your friends or loved ones will end in tears. 2. Do not make remarks that someone’s baby or toddler is cute. It was believed a long time ago that if you make a comment that your baby or someone’s baby is cute, evil spirits will snatch away the baby.

5 Thailand 3. Do not point rainbow, or your finger will be amputated! The reason behind this taboo is still unknown, and talked about widely among Thais. 4. Do not wear black when visiting people in the hospital. Ancient Thai people consider black as the colour of pain and sadness used for mourning, and so must not be worn on festive occasions.

When you walk though the triangle, you are tempting the fates. 2.Do Not Breaking a Mirror . Since a mirror was thought to be a reflection of the soul, breaking a mirror was harmful to the soul.

7 America 3.Do Not opening an Umbrella Inside . When the umbrella is opened inside, and out of the way of sun's rays, it offends the sun god. 4. Tossing Spilled Salt over your Shoulder. By tossing spilled salt over your left shoulder, you are driving away the evil spirits lurking with the intent to cause misfortune.

8 Egypt 1.Do not use your left hand in social situations either to gesture or touch an Egyptian. The left hand is considered evil and unclean. 2. Do not call an Egyptian an "Arab". Egyptians prefer to be called “Egyptians” in recognition of their history.

9 Egypt 3. Be careful where and when consuming alcohol. This is insulting to many Egyptians and intoxication is frowned upon. 4. The number 13 is unlucky. Judas, the disciple who betrayed Jesus, was the thirteenth guest at the table of the Last Supper.

11 Japan 3. Sticking chopsticks into the rice is inauspicious in Japan. Chopsticks are not usually stick into food, especially rice. 4. Cutting your finger nail at night might be taken as a sign that you will not be with your parents at their death.

12 Australia 1.Always be the best person you can be. This alone will keep evil forces at bay. 2. Don’t sit at the corner of a table if you are not married yet; if you do, there are chance you will never marry.

13 Australia 3. Don’t give money on Mondays – you will give money all week long. 4. Take care on a Tuesday especially if it is also a 13th – you might have bad luck.
