© RELOAD 2003, funded by Where we fit CREATE CONTENT PACKAGE, TEST & MANIPULATE [RELOAD] STORE [REPOSITORY] DELIVER [MLE]

© RELOAD 2003, funded by Aims of project Facilitate the creation, sharing and reuse of learning objects and services –generic engine architecture Enhance the range of pedagogical approaches realisable through the use of lesson plans –bringing the specs to life.

© RELOAD 2003, funded by The Architecture User Interface level Middle layer: Widget factory etc RELOAD Engine (parsing XML, helpers) Metadata Spec. Content Packaging Spec. SCORM Impl. Metadata UI controller CP UI controller SCORM UI controller LD UI controller Learning Design Spec.

© RELOAD 2003, funded by Dissemination Beyond the developer community Collecting user needs and feedback Turin - ILO Workshops and training

© RELOAD 2003, funded by Telcert and Unfold - EU TELCERT –Building on RELOAD Internationalization, Validators, More Specs (LIP), New User Interfaces, Application Profiles UNFOLD –Bringing these specs to a wider community: Developers > Implementers > End Users

© RELOAD 2003, funded by VDEX (Tina Manoharan, Phil Barker) Vocabulary Definition Exchange Created a tool for editing VDEX Vocabularies Based on reload engine so cut development time significantly –User community were quickly able to see the specification in action.

© RELOAD 2003, funded by Further Developments Aloha – University of Calgary HarvestRoad Hive and WebDAV ADL – SCORM 1.3 Partners in developing Learning Design More…

© RELOAD 2003, funded by Aloha Advanced Learning Object Hub Application Project run by the Learning Commons at the University of Calgary, Canada. Developed a tool similar to RELOAD - editing of Metadata.

Aloha Metadata Editor

© RELOAD 2003, funded by Aloha Approached us in order to base their tool on the Reload Engine - To build or migrate the best parts of Aloha onto the Reload code base… Focussing on developing the Metadata Editor for Reload with multiple form views and profiles. Users will be able to define a Metadata "Profile" as consisting of a Schema, UI filter, Helper, and Vocabulary to use for the document.

Metadata Profile Editor 1

Metadata Profile Editor 2

Metadata Profile Editor 3

© RELOAD 2003, funded by HarvestRoad Hive and WebDav Australian company - www.harvestroad.com Federated Digital Repository System Approached us to see if we would be interested in incorporating a plugin so that Reload users can open and save directly into their web based repository using WebDAV www.webdav.org

© RELOAD 2003, funded by HarvestRoad and Reload So… Reload could eventually support distributed collaborative authoring HarvestRoad have done this so far: –1 Launch Hive in a web browser –2 Browse Hive content in a Tree and drag items into the Resources area of the Reload Editor. –3 Use Hive Item Id's to create resources that link to items stored in Hive.

© RELOAD 2003, funded by ADL SCORM 1.3 Editor additions ADL approached us to add SCORM 1.3 Editing (we have 1.2) 1.3 adds Simple Sequencing They have now added 1.3 support to Reload Editor Demonstrated at ADL Plugfest Oct 2003 Will be integrated later… ADL Presentation
