17 17 UMTS Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) is a third generation mobile cellular technology (3G) for networks based on the GSM standard. Since 2006, UMTS networks in many countries have been or are in the process of being upgraded with High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), sometimes known as 3.5G.

29 29 Conclusion We propose two architectures to support Multi-RAT Virtualization for LTE-Advanced network via exist interface and All-IP core network connection Those are achievable and novel Multi-RAT Virtualization architectures for future 4G wireless network. Based on results analysis, our proposed Arch_B might have better performance. However, to apply Arch_A for different purposes is also an alternative solution.
