3 Background 2001 South Apopka designated a Safe Neighborhood Created a citizen group to oversee crime prevention and safety initiatives Although crime has decreased, there remains significant challenges

5 Background Dec 2010OCSO and NPRD conduct a neighborhood survey to identify vulnerable areas Feb 2011NPRD met with Comptrollers Office to determine if an MSBU amendment is possible

8 MSBU Ballot Results 1,383 ballots mailed 150 yes – 50.2% in favor 149 no – 49.8% not in favor 77 – returned as undeliverable by the post office 3 – returned after the deadline 1,004 – no reply

9 Holden Heights MSBU March 28, 2000 BCC Agenda Hartage requested public hearing without balloting Coordinated with OBT Safe Neighborhood Crime and high number of renters

10 Requested Action Board direction regarding scheduling a public hearing on the South Apopka Street Lighting MSBU
