2 PARTS OF A PLANT 1. Roots- allow plants to take in water and other nutrients from soil 2. Stem-supports the plant’s height 3. Leaves-give a broad surface to capture light 4. Flower-attracts pollinators, holds reproductive organs that allow plants to make seeds and pollen

3 PARTS OF PLANTS 5. Xylem-pipe that carries water to all parts of the plant 6. Phloem-pipe that carries food to all parts of the plant 7. Pistil-female reproductive part 8. Stamen-male reproductive part 9. Seed-an embryo that is the beginning of a new plant, usually has a protective coat and contains food for the embyro
