2 Flag of Ecuador Red is to indicate courage.
Blue is to symbolize independence from Spain. Yellow is the color of federation.

3 Geographic Design of Ecuador
Capital: Quito. Terrain: Jungle east of the Andes Mountains. Volcanic Islands in the Pacific Ocean. Climate: Very mild year-round in the mountain valleys. Hot and humid in coastal and Amazonian jungle lowlands. Largest cities of Ecuador are Guayaquil and Cuenca.

4 People of Ecuador The people are called Ecuadorians.
The population of Ecuador:13,755,680. More than half of the population is covered by Mestizos. The 2 official languages of Ecuador are Spanish and Quechua. Most people who live in Ecuador speaks Spanish. English is the most spoken foreign language.

5 Religion About 95% of the total population race is mostly Roman Catholic Religion. Most of the races and tribes in Ecuador have been originated from Indian and Spanish tribes. Ecuador’s main culture is defined by it’s Hispanic Mestizo majority. Beside the Spanish language, there is about 10 languages. Ecuador is the home to many Mestizo.

6 Clothing The men usually wear a blue poncho and a fedora.
The women wore a pretty white blouse, a nice blue skirt, with a beautiful shawl.

7 Foods Lunch and dinner with soup, meat, and dessert comes up to $1.
What they mainly eat is veggies and fruits. The breakfast in the Andean Region is coffee and a bread pastry. Lunch is always soup and a main dish.

8 News about Ecuador Thousands and thousands of people has been forced to move out of their homes as two volcanoes erupted on Thursday in Guatemala. The volcano in Ecuador killed at least 2 people and injuries more than 50 others. The volcano was called Pacaya which was spewing out lava, rocks and debris.

9 Resources The 2 major resources of Ecuador is coffee and cattle.
Coffee beans are produced in Ecuador and is exported to us. Cattle is what gauchos use for grazing.

10 Government The president of Ecuador is Rafael Correa in 2007.
Vice president is Lenin Moren. They have 22 provinces. Government type of Ecuador is Republican.
