The National ITS Architecture & Standards The National ITS Architecture & Standards are creating & driving a market Becoming more integral in the transportation planning process Final rule recently published The Architecture provides a framework for identifying, describing, and “connecting” surface transportation systems Describes an integrated transportation network through “user services” Moving away from systems working in isolation Technical standards (primarily software) are developed that describes what the information is and how it flows between the various systems
