3 Ihorere Munyarwanda Organisation (IMRO) is Non Governmental Organization that was founded in 1999 and legally operating in Rwanda. We were granted legal personality No 03/11 and have fulfilled all requirements for compliance with the new Law number 04/2012 of 17 th February 2012 governing the Organization and Functioning of National Non Governmental Organizations/RGB-Rwandan Law.

4 IMRO implements interventions in the context of HIV/AIDS and health promotion, in order to mitigate the impact of HIV & other diseases at individual, family and, community levels for sustainable social economic development. This is achieved through broad consultation, partnership and transparent management. The organization works towards the vision of IMRO as a national organization of excellence in harmonization and synergy for a healthy society, targeting most-at-risk /Key Populations and vulnerable populations to have access to health services like other enabled environment in Rwanda and beyond.

5 IhorereMunyarwanda Organization (IMRO), under technical and financial support from FHI 360/ROADS III Rwanda Project, is implementing a comprehensive HIV prevention intervention for key population including female sex workers (FSW) and men having sex with men (MSM) in Gisenyi and Kigali sites.

6 Identification and recruitment of MSM differ from FSWs for different reasons  Identification and recruitment of FSWs done through hotspots;  MSM were primarily identified and recruited through their existed organizations (6 organizations in Kigali City;

7  At the beginning, IMRO organized project orientation meeting with MSM Executive Directors (6 people representing 6 MSM organizations) and general meeting with MSM organizations members where 146 MSM attended the meeting;  Training of MSM Peer Educators selected from MSM organizations and chosen by members themselves in the line of requirements for person to be PE (28 PEs from Kigali and 2 PEs from Rubavu);

8 Six organizations existed during the beginning of the identification and recruitment: 1. HOCA (Horizon Community Association); 2. SFS (Safe Friendly Society); 3. My Rights; 4. Pride Ark; 5. AHR (Amahoro Human Respect); 6. RRR (Rwanda Rainbow Rights) With ongoing identification and recruitment, new MSM organization was formed in Kicukiro District (BHF: Building Hope for Future) So far, 7 MSM organizations are enrolled in program with possibility of increasing due to ongoing identification and recruitment.

9 Number of MSM reached is reported monthly due to ongoing identification and recruitment:  The month of July ended with 302 MSM reached (280 MSMin Kigali City 22 in Rubavu);  The month of August ended with 332 MSM reached (310 MSM in Kigali City 22 in Rubavu);  The month of September ended with 372 MSM reached (350 in Kigali City MSM reached and 22 in Rubavu);  Currently from the beginning of October, 400 MSM are reached in the program (378 in Kigali and 22 in Rubavu) So far from the beginning of October, 400 MSM enrolled in IMRO Key Population program are currently reached under the target of 200 MSM (200%) as stipulated in IMRO/USAID FHI360 Agreement October 2013-September 2014.

10  Peer Education sessions approximately two times a month;  Condoms and lubricants distribution via their Pes (Last month, 18164 condoms and 901 lubricants were distributed);  Community Basic Health Insurance (Mutuelle de sante): 400 MSM have MUSA;  STIs screening and treatment every quarter;  HTC;  GSLA (Group of saving and landing Association). So far it has started in Rubavu MSM and soon in Kigali after screening all feasibilities;

11  STIs Screening and treatment : 17 MSM were screened last month of September. All found positive and put under treatment.  HIV Testing and Counseling : 15 MSM attended HTC all are negative. Two know their status (HIV+) and both are under ARVs, Rubavu site. For Kigali Site, STIs screening and treatment and HTC are ongoing.

12 One follow up per week in Rubavu Site where their weekly meeting take place at IMRO office and it is one association. In Kigali City, they are 7 organizations with 35 peer educations sessions twice per month. Follow up is planned to be done once per week.

14  MSM still hid themselves due fear condemnation;  Stigma and Discrimination in society against MSM which block them to freely access the services;  Some HFs and local authorities who not yet understand the essence of serving MSM which is stared as promoting homosexuality in Rwanda;  Self stigma within MSM;  Availability of lubricants
