1 International Chamber of Commerce By Brayden Hewie & Liam Russell

2 History/Membership Founded in 1919 to serve world business by promoting trade and investment, open markets for goods and services and the free flow of capital. The largest most represenitive business organization in the world. There are two ways to become a member of ICC: 1. Through affiliation with an ICC national committee or group. 2. By direct membership with the ICC International Secretariat when a national committee/group has not yet been established in your country/territory.

3 Controversy The ICC is often placed in the role of arbitrator to settle disputes, and sets as well as advocates for occasionally controversial policies. Often, members of local Chambers of Commerce are forced to make controversial calls in order to make the area a better place to live.

4 Recent new articles “A guide to supply chain finance basics” - This primer on the popular financing option explains how importers can benefit from it, and how to work with a bank to do due diligence on suppliers before adding them to a program. “Avoiding delays and costs by having the correct documentation”- Basically about improper documentation. “At the negotiating table”- The executive director at the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce comments on doing business in Asia.
