4 Abstract 4 Materials Science Laboratory, Department of Physics, College of Science, Az Zulfi, Majmaah University, KSA.  In this work, we use chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technique to synthesize CdS 1 D-nanostructures (nanobelts & Sea-Urchin like nanostructures).  The morphological characterizations of the product were examined by optical microscope, while optical properties are investigated by Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy.  PL spectroscopy helps to identify the crystallinity of the nanostructures.

(b) of Sea-Urchin like CdS nanostructures. Excitation source is 325 nm laser. Result: PL identified easily defects level in the nanostructures.

11 Conclusion 11 Materials Science Laboratory, Department of Physics, College of Science, Az Zulfi, Majmaah University, KSA.  PL of sea-urchin-like CdS nanostructures show only bandedge emission at 512 nm, which means our sea-urchin-like CdS nanostructures posses high quality optical property.  These results are important in the design of future green luminescence, and display devices.  PL technique help us to identify Defects exist in the nanostructures.
