Quarter 4 Test 1 XLVIII. Perimeter and Circumference XLIX. Area of Rectangles & Squares L. Area of Parallelograms LI. Area of Triangles LII. Area of Circles LIV.LIII. Volume of Rectangular Prisms

Remember to study vocabulary: perimeter, chord, diameter, radius, etc. Memorize the formulas! AFLAC (This has nothing to do with the test; I just thought it would be funny!)

A tabletop shaped like a triangle has a base of 40 cm and a height of 34 cm. Find the area. (The picture is not drawn to scale.) 34cm 40cm A=(b)h 2 A=(40)34 2 A= 680 cm 2

6.2 in. 4.9 in. 5.1 in. A=(b)h A=(6.2)4.9 A=30.38in. 2 Find the area.

How much fencing is needed to enclose a circular garden whose radius is 4.5yards? 4.5yd C=πd C=(3.14)9 C=28.26yd

Find the circumference of a bicycle wheel if one spoke from the center measures 24cm. 24 C=πd C=(3.14)48 C=150.72 cm

Find the area of the figure. (Round your answer to the nearest whole number.) 5m 3.5m A=lw A=5(3.5) A=17.5 m 2 A=πr 2 A=π(1.75 2 ) A=9.61625 m 2 A=17.5 m 2 +9.61625 m 2 = 27.11625 m 2 = 27 m 2

Find the volume of the rectangular prism. 11cm 16cm 6cm V=lwh V=16(6)11 V=1,056cm 3

Find the area of the figure. 10cm A=lw ORA=s 2 A=10(10)A=10 2 A=100cm 2 10cm A=πr 2 A=3.14(5 2 ) A=78.5cm 2 A=78.5(2) (Multiply by 2 because there are two circles.) A=157cm 2 A=157 cm 2 +100 cm 2 =257cm 2

Find the perimeter. 18.7 12.3 4 7.5 13.5 7 10 22.5 11 5.5 P= 18.7+12.3+13.5+7.5+4+7+10+22.5+5.5+11 P= 112units

Find the area of the triangle. 13cm 16cm 22cm A=1/2 bh A=.5(16)13 A=104cm 2

A garden measures 40 meters wide and 72 meters long is to be enclosed by a fence. At $8.90 per meter, what will the fencing cost? P=72+72+40+40 P=224meters 224 X $8.90 $1993.60

The circumference of the circle is 78.5m. Find the area. C=πd 78.5 = 3.14d 3.14 d = 25 m A=πr 2 A=3.14(12.5 2 ) A=490.625m 2

Challenge: (A question like this could be an extra credit question.) A bulletin board is shaped like a trapezoid. If the bases are 45cm and 65cm and the height is 40cm, what is the area? A=(b 1 +b 2 )h 2 A=(45+65)40 2 A=2,200cm 2

Super Duper Challenge: (Don’t worry this type of problem is not on the test.) The area of a trapezoid is 48in 2. The height is 4in. The measure of b 2 is 3 times greater than measure of b 1. Find the measure of each base. A=.5(b 1 +b 2 )h 48=.5(x+3x)4 48=2(x + 3x) 48=2x +6x 48=8x 8 h=6 in. b 1 =6 in. b 2 =18 in.
