Do not take it uncooked or cooked with boiling water, but let it be cooked in the oven; its head with its legs and its inside parts. Verses 8 & 9 And let your food that night be the flesh of the lamb, cooked with fire in the oven, together with unleavened bread and bitter-tasting plants. 21 EXODUS 12:12-35 Obeying What God Wants you to do.

Verse 12 “For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast” Every first born human male would be killed. Every first born male animal would be killed.

Verse 12 “against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.” The Egyptians worshipped false gods. The Lord was showing them that he was the ONE TRUE GOD.

Verse 13 – “when I see the blood, I will pass over you” This is a picture of our Salvation. 1 Peter 1:18 -19

Verse 15 “for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.” What is Leaven? In the Bible – Leaven is usually a picture / symbol of sin. There were serious consequences for anyone who disobeyed.

Verse 17 “And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt:” Passover began on 14th day of the 1st month. That was the day that God passed over their houses and spared their first born sons. Unleavened Bread began on 15th day. That was the day when they left Egypt.

Verse 22 “and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.” The Israelites hadn’t to wander away but had to remain under the blood. Have we wandered away from God?

Verses 26-27 “when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD’S Passover” The Israelites were expected to teach their children about the Passover. As Christians, we are expected to teach our children about the Lord Jesus and how he died to save us.

Verse 28 "And the children of Israel went away, and did as the LORD had commanded” Do you think anyone disobeyed?

Verses 29-30 at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt,….. and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead. God keeps his promises. Obedience = sheltering under the blood = safety. Disobedience = no blood on the door =death

Verse 35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothes: OBEDIENCE BRINGS REWARD.
