4 Brazil’s Trade Agreements Program Both countries have agreements that include 15 trade partners.

5 Brazil’s National Export Plan New FTAs: EU, Canada, EFTA, Mexico, Cuba, Central America and Middle East countries. Expand existing FTAs: Latin American countries and SACU.

6 CNI-Keidanren Joint Report  Context: CNI’s reinforcement of the bilateral agenda Revitalization of the Brazil Section of the Brazil-Japan Economic Cooperation Committee (i.e. new Chairman—Vale; new members; and new program of work); Closer relationship with the Brazil-Japan Wise-Men Group; Convergence of Brazil-related domestic reform proposals with the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil (“AGIR” initiative); Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Keidanren to prepare a joint report with recommendations to the two governments, including launching negotiations towards a Brazil-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA); and Ongoing engagement with MDIC and Itamaraty.
