It enables us to fully enjoy and appreciate other people, day- to-day life and our environment. 6 Facts about mental ill health headspace centres Mental health is the single biggest health issue facing young Australians Mental health problems affect 1 in 4 young people in any 12 month period Only 1 of every 5 people seek help For most people the onset is before the age of 25 Most of the people who experience mental health issues are reluctant to seek help

9 headspace centres Helping a friend Let the person know if you've noticed a change in their behaviour. Spend time talking with the person and let them know that you're there to listen without being judgmental. Help the person to find information about depression and anxiety from a website or library. Invite the person out and keep in touch, but don't pressure the person to participate in activities. Encourage the person to seek help from a professional!
