This is the kind of love God has given to those who believe in his Son: God sees them as His children.

This is the kind of love God has given to you as a believer, God considers you his very own children.

John is saying to this church, this is how you can tell an authentic Christian; they KNOW they belong in the Heavenly Father’s family now.

There are no Christian orphans. When you believe in my Son, you become my son. When you believe Jesus is my child, you become my child.

Say this with me: I am a child of God. By faith in Jesus I have become a child of God. By believing in his Son, I have become of God’s sons and daughters.

Ephesians 1:5 (NLT) 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
