20 How can you help your child be successful? 1. READ EVERY DAY!! You can read to your child, and encourage him or her to read to you…either way…READ!!! ☺ 2. CREATE A CONSISTENT AFTER SCHOOL ROUTINE. Remind your child to unpack his/her backpack and show all work to you! This is his/her chance to show off their hard work. 3. BE POSITIVE!! ☺ Always speak in a positive tone about school, learning, and your child’s teacher. 4. ENCOURAGE! Give your child the opportunity to excel in all areas of academics. 5. REST! Be sure your child is getting plenty of rest each night and is ready for school each day. 6. TEACH PRIDE!! Teach your child to be responsible for his/her actions and take pride in all they do! 7. STAY INVOLVED!! Make it a point to ask your child about his/her day at school! Ask what good or bad things happened at school. 8.
