Two Calla Lilies on Pink Description: O’Keeffe paints two calla lilies close up on a bed of pink.The flow of movement makes your eyes start looking from the top right and end up at the stems at bottom left. Stream of color almost appears liquid like. Background is ambiguous and it gives the flowers a sense of power.

O’Keeffe Well known for….she was famous for painting flowers up close and depicting them in an abstract way. Her paintings give a mysterious sensual power to her images by allowing the colors to flow and lure the viewer in. She also painted landscapes which showed skulls of animals from the deserts of New Mexico. She would paint images of nature from the objects she would collect from her home. Red, White, and Blue Description: O’Keeffe paints a skull of an animal isolated from its environment and uses America’s colors as a joke because this is the richest country in the world, yet it still has people who go hungry. She also depicts the skull in a famous religious moment.
