2. The academic disciplines/fields of computer science and information technology are continually evolving. As an independent academic unit, Bren School is able to be at the forefront of undergrad education, offering 7 majors + 5 minors + multiple GE courses for non-majors –Two majors are interdisciplinary (Computer Science and Engineering with Henry Samueli School of Engineering, Business Information Management with Paul Merage School of Business) –Biomedical Computing, Computer Game Science are the newest majors

3. What does the Bren School offer? –Diverse life experiences and perspectives are valued in a field where professional work often uses a team-based approach. (We work with national and regional organizations to help inform young women that CS/IT study can lead to meaningful career options.) –Our majors prepare students for higher-level CS/IT work that requires a skill set broader than programming. –Employment prospects remain strong – many Bren School students get multiple job offers in areas such as: IT consulting, software engineering, database administration, project management, animation, research, teaching.
