17 Current Course Objectives for CSA 472/572: Software Engineering (3 Credits) Demonstrate an understanding of current software analysis & design methodologies Apply object oriented analysis to a typical problem Translate a logical system design into a physical system design and program specifications using object oriented design methodologies Explain the purpose of design in the creation of software systems, and understand the use of abstraction in this process Be aware of the differences between analysis, design, & implementation as an individual & as part of a team Understand the importance of formal methods of analysis & design & of recording analysis & design decisions Understand the properties of analysis, design, & software that determine quality Interpret & develop many design representations Understand methods of quality assurance in analysis, design, & implementation Participate in several analysis and design exercises to amplify the above concepts & methods
