10. Tips for Writing Journal Papers Start planning asap! –Timetable with your supervisors when to work on papers –Think big..! What part of your thesis to disseminate? –Results? Theory? Methodology? –Ask yourself what story is most interesting to you How to select the right journal –Look at which journals repeatedly appear in your literature review –If you are not yet in the habit of searching articles on your subject matter – you should be! Co-authoring & Writing –Typically you would co-author a paper with your supervisors –Do not shut yourself away – involve peers and colleagues A.K.A Networking!
