Original plan for secondary line installation

Hadron hall beamlines in Phase1 Hadron hall secondary beamlines ① ② ③ ④

Other approved experiments E05, E13: stage-2 E07, E19, etc: stage-2 Hyper-nuclear exp. Using SKS as Day-1 from 2009 @K1.8 E15, E17: stage-2 Kaonic nuclei exp. as Day-1 @ K1.8BR E14 :stage-1 K L ->   -bar @K0 E06 @K1.1BR Three secondary lines run simultaneously

Time schedule of E06 A guess! Very dependent on the K1.1-BR beam installation

Grant-in-Aid application in Japan We will make a 5 year plan for 2008 to 2012 for ~ 300 kYen. Active polarimeter Muon field magnet CsI(Tl) readout Total assembly Electronics and DAQ Some fraction of Target and Tracking Operation money (travel, meeting etc.) Transfer of the SCM and He cryogenic system are not included. Application deadline is the end of October at KEK We will describe all the details of the total project. It is very desired that we can show the international cooperation in detector upgrades.

International cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MoU): Now in preparation process between TRIUMF /JPARC and INR/JPARC Responsibilities of both sides It will facilitate the installation of the beamline How about MIT and other universities? –Letters from the J-PARC center director enough? Contribution tot the branch part of K1.1-BR from Canada?

Job assignments and schedule (1) (1) K0.8 beamline element identification (J.Imazato)- Check of the preparation status by the Hadron Beamline Group- Check of available components- More precise cost estimate- Installation planning proposal# by next PAC (2) E1120 analysis (Danielle Anderson, J. Imazato, M. Hasinoff)- Analysis with a Gaussian relaxation function- Finalizing result and report to TRIUMF# by Saskatoon (?) + TRIUMF deadline% TREK Technical Note No.5 (3) Electronics summary (Y. Igarashi, S. Shimizu)- List-up of necessary developments and who and how- List-up of modules which we expect to obtain from the pool.- More precise cost estimate and time schedule# by Saskatoon and next PAC% TREK technical Note No.6 (4) C0 and C1 GEM chamber (M. Kohl)- More detailed report of the FNAL test experiment- Clarification of rate capability- C0 cylindrical chamber conceptual picture# by Saskatoon% TREK Technical Note No.4

Job assignments and schedule (2) (5) Polarimeter misalignment analysis (K. Horie, S. Shimizu)- Write up a technical note# by Saskatoon meeting% TREK Technical Note No.2 (6) Syatematic error estimate (K. Horie, S. Shimizu)- More precise evaluation of systematic error due to Pol.alignment- Evaluation of cancellation factors for other systematics- Inclusion of realistic magnetic field distribution# by next PAC (?) or earlier% TREK Technical Note No.7 (7) GEANT4 flux study around target (M. Hasinoff, P. Gumplinger)- Summary of GEANT4 calculation- Comparison with MPPC tolerance# by Saskatoon meeting% TREK Technical Note No.3 (8) Summary of MPPC radiation hardness tests (T. Matsumura)- Summary of RCNP proton beam test- Other beam tests- Recommendation for the target readout# by Saskatoon meeting% T.Matsumura is going to make a journal paper (?)

Job assignments and schedule (3) (9) Design of target assembly (W. Anderson, S Strauch)- Design of fiber unit with MPPC- Study of shielding effectiveness with MC (S. Strauch)- Design of total assembly- Design of a backup option using PMT (10) CsI(Tl) readout amplifier (A. Ivashkin, J. Imazato)- To find a designer for the amplifier (11) CsI(Tl) beam test at Tohku (H. Yamazaki, T.Matsumura)- Module test with the 250 MeV electron beam or tagged photons.- Preparation of available amplifiers# Beam time request for autumn ? (12) Muon magnet design (J. Imazato, H. 11 Other progresses K + stopping efficiency and target size (M.Hasinoff) Tracking simulation and K  -dif BG estimate (S.Shimizu, K.Horie) K0.8 beam line design improvement (J.Doornbos)

Beamline issues and next PAC IPNS/J-PARC started to make a realistic plan of KL/K1.1 installation according to the PAC recommendation This plan will be presented to the next PAC meeting in January. There we have also to make our E06 progress report. – K0.8 beam optics optimization and Installation schedule – Target readout method, MPPC or PMT? – Further study of systematic errors (down to < 10 -4 ) Polarimeter analysis – High rate performance of the detector (in general?) Target-MPPC, CsI(Tl)-APD, C0 – Funding efforts/ international cooperation with MOU
