3 The example we’ve used is from Coop Denmark a/s.

4  Coop is the great Danish foodstuffs chain.  It owns stores like: Lokal- daglig- og super brugsen, kvickly, Fakta and Irma.  The union that Coop uses is the HK union

5  The union is a safety net that will guide you through laws about your job, and they’ll answer your questions about your job.  Coop uses The HK union, which is the greatest union in Denmark.

6  And here’s some of the rules that Coop uses, that you can or can not in the Coop business.

7 In Coop it is only legal to lift up to 25 kilos (that's the weight of a crate of beer).

8 As a Coop worker may you only work to 8’ O clock in the evening.

9 The minimum salary of a coop worker under 18 on a normal working day is 57 Dkk per hour.

10 A youth money transport shall be within a 18+ year olds 100 meters radius.

11 These rules are made by: HK, HK’s members and Coop. Who decides these rules? It’s the union presidents, vice presidents and sometimes the groups leaders.

12  Some places it gives education and development to work there, some not  It means that you can use it in the future, it will give better opportunities.

13  If you are under 18 then you don’t have to pay tax, unless you earn more than 32.200 Dkk.  Even if you are under or over 18, you have to pay the labor market contribution, it is 8 percent of your salary.

14  These thinks do the jobpatrol when they check youth work: Salary, Work hours, dangerous machinery, serving of alcohol. Before the jobpatrol talk with the youth worker they need a permission of the employer.  Who gets blamed if an youth breaking the law when he/she work? It is the employer there gets blamed and will receive some fines. The parents to the child will maybe also receive fines because they are responsible for the youth until he/she is 18 years old.

15  What to do as a Coop worker if you think you’re being cheated? Contact as fast as possible the HK, they can tell you if there is something wrong.  What to do if i don’t like the working enviroment? Contact for an example LO’s jobpatrol, or the labour inspectorate, and they’ll check on your job.
