How long does it take to make a pearl?
It usually takes 2-3 years for a pearl to cultivate , but a lot of pollution has decreased the number of pearls greatly so pearls are cultivated through man-made process.

What are fresh water pearls?
Pearls are deposits of calcium carbonate called nacre. Pearl is not a mineral because it does not have a distinctive crystal structure and is formed by the action of a living thing.

Where were fresh water pearls found?
Pearls were found in 1986 along the Mississippi and Tennessee River valleys.

How do pearls form? Pearls form around irritants(usually sand grains) in mussels, oysters, and clams.
