2 MLA Update 2009 2009 changes in MLA:  Publication Medium (e.g. Print, Web, etc.)  New Abbreviations (e.g. “N.p.” for “no publisher given” if you can’t find the name of the publisher in a book)

4 Print Source with Author In-text Example: Human beings have been described by Kenneth Burke as "symbol-using animals" (3). Human beings have been described as "symbol-using animals" (Burke 3).

6 With Unknown Author In-text Example: We see so many global warming hotspots in North America likely because this region has “more readily accessible climatic data and more comprehensive programs to monitor and study environmental change...” (“Impact of Global Warming” 6). [Note: this is an article, not a book, so the title is in quotation marks. A book title would be italicized, like we talked about yesterday.]
