2 In our own words You have to be able to figure out which equation matches which graph.

3 Linear The straight line is the simplest graph so it is simply y=x.

4 Quadratic The u shape is called a parabola.

5 Cubic That graph is odd because it has rotational symmetry around the origin.

6 Absolute Value It makes a V for Absolute V alue.

7 Radical (square root) The domain has to start at zero because you can’t take the square root of a negative.

8 Inverse/Rational The graph has a bottom & top, just like the equation.
